Tzedakah Juamaa Box

Materials: Mud cloth, l.e.d. lights, Nigerian coins, cedar, zebrawood, plexiglass
Date: 2000

In making this Tzedakah box, I am materializing a prayer that people of African descent and people of the Jewish culture can return to a state of harmonious interaction. In the past we have worked together, changing the world and bettering the position of those in need. It is my hope and belief that we can best do this in concert with one another. This piece is created in memory of Mrs. Bola Reiff,
a mentor, friend and comrade in this work.
